DR. ALBERTO VILLOLDO
Medical anthropologist Dr. Alberto Villoldo has spent more than 30 years researching the shamanic healing practices of the Amazon and Andes. He founded the Four Winds Society, considered the gold standard in energy medicine and neuroscience education.
In his mid-20s, Dr. Alberto was the youngest clinical professor at San Francisco State University, where he founded and directed the Biological Self-Regulation Lab to study how psychosomatic medicine changes the chemistry of the brain. He quickly realized that the microscope was the wrong tool to answer the questions he was asking. Other scientists were already studying the hardware; Villoldo wanted to learn how to reprogram the system for extraordinary health. He is the author of more than 25 international bestsellers in the field of energy medicine, including “Grow a New Body” and “Grow a New Brain”.

Today Marcela hosts retreats at Los Lobos Sanctuary, the center she and her husband Alberto Villoldo built in the Chilean mountains. She travels internationally to teach shamanic wisdom and leads sacred journeys for women who want to awaken their own power and grace.
